"I know the Viewpoints, now what?"
This workshop will focus on what we can do with the Viewpoints now that we have learned and explored them!
Over the 2-day, 8-hour intensive, The Viewpoints will be used to: create short, original theatrical compositions and investigate how they can be used in rehearsals for already established work!
Day 1 will begin with a review of the nine Viewpoints. Participants will continue to explore in “Open Viewpoint Sessions” where groups use the Viewpoints to create “recipes” for the physical improvisations. By working and watching one another work, participants will stockpile strong ideas, themes, concepts, and images (source material) on the way to developing short theatrical compositions using the Viewpoints and what they have gathered during Day 1.
Day 2 will start with Open Viewpoints Sessions. Participants will then use the Viewpoints to create short theatrical compositions based on a set of requirements. The last half of Day 2 will be used to explore how the Viewpoints can be used for established work, using scenes from select plays.
Instructor: Dana Marks- Actor/Director/Teacher
Requirements: Knowledge and at least beginning practice of The Viewpoints
