
J Chachula co-founded The Flying Machine Theatre Company with Marta King in 1999 and is a professional teacher, actor, and director. He is a graduate of The American Academy of Dramatic Arts and received his Meisner training from Andy Rohrer and Larry Silverberg. He studied improvisation with The Transactors Improv Company and spent two years touring with the group.
He was last seen onstage in the role of Honeyman in A Walk in the Woods. His most recent performance with Flying Machine was as Jody in Lonely Planet. Other roles include Tom in Dinner with Friends, the Librarian in Underneath the Lintel, Yadu'llah in A Dress for Mona, (for Drama Circle), Pip/Theo in Three Days of Rain, and Gene in Things You Shouldn't Say Past Midnight.
J has acted in and directed productions with On The Roof, Fallen Rose, Raleigh Ensemble Players, Temple Theater, Justice Theater Project, Exit Through Eden and has performed for kids with Little Big and Raleigh Little Theatre. He has managed, directed, written and acted for the NC Museum of Natural Sciences’ Nature Fun Theatre. He has two decades experience in the corporate world acting in industrial videos and, more recently, using live role-play to train management in more effective communication.
A New York native, he has lived in the Triangle since 1977. He lives in Raleigh with his wife and son.

Dana Marks is an actor, teacher, and director based in Durham, NC. She is a graduate of The American Repertory Theatre Institute at Harvard University. She is also Managing Director of the award-winning Little Green Pig Theatrical Concern, which she runs with her husband, actor/director, Jay O’Berski. Robin Monteith is an actor, director and teacher of acting. Robin has directed and taught students at Central Michigan University, UNCG, Greensboro College, Flying Machine Theatre, the Carrboro ArtsCenter, and the North Carolina Theatre Conference among others. As an actor and director she has studied and presented work in London’s National Theatre Acting Programme, LaMaMa’s International Directing Symposium in Umbria, Italy, and Skena-Up International Theatre and Film Festival in Pristina, Kosovo. As a teacher, she loves the interaction and learning that happens in the classroom. Celebrating the breakthroughs and growth of students is a joyful experience for her and she always learns so much from her students. She feels that acting classes enrich the lives of the participants as well as the artform. Favorite roles include Tituba in The Crucible, Nan/Lina in Three Days of Rain, and Charlotte in Female Transport. Favorite directing experiences include Into the Woods which won an Honorable Mention in Directing from the Kennedy Center’s American College Theatre Festival. Robin’s holds an MFA in Acting from UNCG.

Dan Sipp began improvising in 1988 with Transactors Improv Company and has taught improvisation for 15 years. In 1998 he moved to Chicago where he studied, performed and directed for eight years. He is a graduate of The Annoyance and The iO (formerly Improv Olympic) training centers and has studied with such improv luminaries as Paul Sills, Del Close, Martin de Maat, Mick Napier, Joe Bill and The Second City. He ran the Worx Training Center in Raleigh for four years and now teaches at Raleigh Little Theater and throughout the Triangle. His improv company, Third Date, performs throughout the year at Common Ground Theatre in Durham.
