Transform into a more expressive performer using the power of your voice!
You have the natural ability to produce sound purely with ease and power yet the lifestyles we honor have bound our voices, making it difficult or embarrassing to fully express ourselves on stage and in our daily lives.
As babies we produced sound without strain. We made sound all day every day until we learned not to. We had a large range of sound that was as subtle and nimble as it was loud and powerful!
As performers it is essential to have freedom and control over the voice yet it is the most neglected part of our expressive selves.
Using physical exercises for the body and voice, students will begin to curb bad vocal habits and reclaim the power and finesse of the voice. Students will walk away knowing:
* Anatomy of the vocal apparatus and how to care for it
* Vocal drills and physical exercises to free up the muscles of the body.
* How tone, pitch, volume, and resonance can be used to create meaning and intention in performance.
Class size limited to 10 STUDENTS.
NOTE: The Expressive Voice is a foundation class of the Flying Machine Actor Training Program and priority is given to those students. Any available slots are opened up on a first-come, first-served basis. Interested students should fill out a registration form (below) to be placed on the waiting list.
FEE: $200
*No previous vocal training necessary! Ages 16+
