Show Biz 101 walks you step by step through the process of starting in Show Business. This weekend seminar takes you from the beginning stages of Understanding the Process, Embracing Your Look, and Formulating Your “Tools” right through to Finding an Agent, Auditioning, Booking and Working on Camera.
Location: Raleigh Charter High School, 1307 Glenwood Ave, Raleigh
Fee: $150
The seminar covers the following topics:
Head Shots and Resumes;
Agents, Managers, Publicity Managers and Scams;
Auditions, Callbacks and Casting Directors;
Booking the Job: Day Players, Principals and Extras;
On The Set, Where to go and Who to know;
Actors Unions and Negotiating Contracts;
Finding Legitimate Classes, Instructors, Photographers and Who do you Trust?; and finally,
Your Chance at Stardom and What Happens Next.
All participants will be given a reference copy of all information presented in the seminar.

Show Biz 101 is taught by theatrical agent Jackie Pressley, who brings over 25 years of industry experience to the course. Ms. Pressley has owned and operated CAPITAL ARTISTS, INC since 1992. Since that time the agency has grown and now represents actors from throughout the United States for film and television, commercials, industrials and training films. CAI has offices in the RDU and Wilmington areas and represents actors who have extensive theatrical credits and advanced training in theatre, acting, and film. Jackie has degrees from Brevard College, Meredith College and attended the University of Georgia. She previously worked in public relations, the news media and as a speechwriter and public speaker.
